The bathroom is to the left. Elevator/stairs to the right. Hope you’re feeling better. I left a bottle of water in the minifridge for you. You should drink it. Please lock the door when you leave.

Bryan Latimer

Vinnie folded the note and put it in his coat pocket reflexively.

Bryan Latimer.

Now he had a first and last name. Strange, though, that there was nothing in the note about see you later or until next time. Although maybe it wasn’t such a surprise that the man whose bed he’d passed out in, trash can he’d thrown up in and—Vinnie was almost sickeningly sure—mouth he’d been unable to come in, didn’t want to see him again.

Shocker.

He found the water in the fridge and carried it with him as he left. Took a never-ending leak in the deserted bathroom at the end of the quiet hall, and then took the stairs down to the lobby. Every step, every bit of blood sluggishly flowing through his veins, swept away some of the stiffness and pain of his epically awful night out.

By the time he made it back to his room to crash, before any of his suitemates had woken up, Vinnie was feeling halfway human again. In need of another eight hours of sleep maybe, but semi-human. And intrigued enough to drift off again remembering the sheen of that silk robe in the dim light of Bryan’s room. Feeling the slither of the fabric against his skin when Bryan touched him and silk had brushed Vinnie’s shoulder.

A silk robe and lip gloss.

That was different.
